DESCRIPTION:Management Dashboards\n\nAccountability and metrics are an incr
easingly central aspect of managing advancement operations. To manage the
plethora of data available\, advancement leaders are turning to dashboards
to help organize key metrics and inform decision-making. While there are
many flashy tools that can automate dashboards\, it is critical that creat
ing a dashboard is not focused on technology but rather picking the right
combination of tailored metrics to achieve fundraising success. Harvard Bu
siness School (HBS) recently implemented a management dashboard bringing t
ogether all areas of the advancement operation to create a tool to assess
current performance and anticipate future challenges and opportunities. Us
ing the HBS case study\, sample dashboards from a variety of other institu
tions\, and best practice research\, this session will help those responsi
ble for managing advancement units to determine which metrics should be ap
